A local community group is planning a new lunch menu for a children’s activity day. Write to persuade the organisers to include more healthy choices. Read the menu notes, explore persuasive techniques and plan a convincing piece of writing. You may use the notes, but add your own ideas too.

The menu challenge

Menu notes from the organisers: Current plan: cheese toasties, crisps, biscuits and fizzy drinks. Possible additions: fruit kebabs, vegetable sticks with hummus, wholegrain wraps and water. The organisers want food that is tasty, filling and easy to serve.
