Build your story plan
Think about what your duck wants, what goes wrong and how the events lead to a solution.
1.Choose a place and time for your duck’s adventure. What might the setting look, sound or feel like?
2.Invent the duck who will lead your story. Describe its appearance and one part of its personality.
3.What trouble interrupts your duck’s day, and why does it matter to the duck?
4.Plan four events that move the story from the first moment to the ending. Write one event for each stage: at first, after that, later, and at last.
5.Choose two moments from your plan. What might your duck think or feel at each moment?
6.How will the main problem be solved? What happens to your duck at the end?
7.List at least four vivid words or phrases for your duck or its setting.
8.Write one sentence for your story plan that uses a simile, metaphor or spoken dialogue.
9.Check your plan: does it include a clear setting, a problem, events in order, your duck’s thoughts or feelings, and a solution? Name one part you have included.
