Today was absolutely mental! Mum dragged me out of bed at 6am to go tramping in the Waitakere Ranges. I was not happy about missing my sleep-in, but I have to admit the bush was pretty amazing. We saw a fantail dancing around the track, and Dad spotted some kauri trees that were hundreds of years old. The climb up to the waterfall nearly killed me - my legs felt like jelly! But when we finally made it to the top, the view was incredible. I could see all the way to the Tasman Sea. Even though I complained the whole way there, I'm secretly glad Mum made me go.
