Tom noticed the lantern's flame reflected in the ice. He carried it to the hilltop and held it high. The bright light shone like a little star. The reindeer followed it towards Bramblewick, pulling the sleigh safely behind them.
As the sleigh crossed the town square, the real star above the hall flickered back to life. Lights glowed in every window. Tom returned home just before midnight, cold and tired, but smiling. The next morning, a silver bell waited on his doorstep. Tom knew Christmas had found its way home.
