Poole Park Reading Comprehension
📖 Read the Story
A Day at Poole Park
Emma and her younger brother Jack were excited as they walked through the gates of Poole Park on a sunny Saturday morning. The park was already bustling with families enjoying the warm weather.
"Look, Emma!" shouted Jack, pointing towards the large boating lake. "Can we feed the ducks?" Emma smiled and pulled out a bag of seeds their mum had given them. The ducks swam eagerly towards the edge of the water, quacking loudly.
After feeding the ducks, the children spotted the adventure playground. Jack raced towards the climbing frame whilst Emma headed for the swings. From her swing, Emma could see the beautiful gardens filled with colourful flowers and the miniature railway track winding through the trees.
As the afternoon grew warmer, they decided to have their picnic by the lake. "This is the best day ever!" declared Jack, munching on his sandwich. Emma agreed as she watched a family of swans glide gracefully across the water. They spent the rest of the day playing hide-and-seek among the oak trees before their parents called them home.
