Objective

Students will enhance their communication skills by using AI tools to practice pronunciation, improve writing clarity, and develop critical editing skills. This lesson will also include peer evaluation using AI-generated fingerprints for personalized growth tracking.

Lesson Activities

Introduction (5 minutes)

2. Explain the Objective: Today, we'll explore innovative ways to enhance both our speaking and writing skills using AI tools. We will focus on pronunciation, writing calibration, and self-evaluation techniques.

Activity 1: Pronunciation Correction through AI (15 minutes)

1. Demonstration of AI Tool: Display a speech recognition software on the projector. Choose a sample paragraph for pronunciation practice. Use the tool to demonstrate how it provides feedback on pronunciation errors.

2. Student Practice:

   • Divide the students into pairs.
   • Each student takes turns reading a paragraph from their texts into the AI tool on their devices.

Activity 2: Writing Calibration with AI (15 minutes)

   • Set the additional task of rewriting one paragraph for better clarity and engagement based on AI feedback.

3. Peer Sharing: Students exchange edited pieces with a partner for additional feedback. Partners offer suggestions for further improvement.

Activity 3: Fingerprinting for Personal Growth (10 minutes)

1. Explanation of Fingerprinting: Introduce the idea of "fingerprinting" as a metaphor for unique writing styles and progress tracking. Discuss how AI can create a digital "fingerprint" based on writing trends and habits.

2. Activity:

   • Have students use the AI tool to generate a basic "writing fingerprint" report that includes insights on their style tendencies (e.g., word choice, sentence complexity).
   • Encourage students to list three areas for personal growth.

3. Sharing Evolution Stories: In groups of four, students discuss their results and outline personal goals for evolution in their writing abilities. Emphasize confidentiality and respect during sharing.

Conclusion (5 minutes)
