2. Brainstorm a quick prevention strategy with a teammate.

Materials Needed

• Sticky notes (one per student).
• Small whiteboard or display space.

Lesson Breakdown

Preparation (Pre-Class Setup)

• Write "Hazards & Risks" on the board.
• Have 34 sticky notes ready on the teacher's desk.

Instant Engagement: 5 Seconds

Start by stating: "Quick! What’s the first hazardous thing that could affect someone at this school?"

Allow only two volunteer shout-outs.

Group Brainstorm: 15 Seconds

1. Divide the classroom into 4 groups. Each group focuses on one general area:

   • Classroom Hazards
   • Playground Hazards
   • Cyber (Online) Risks
   • Personal Safety Risks

2. Using pair-shares within groups, students have 10 seconds to whisper-ideas.
