Learning Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

Lesson Plan Outline

1. Introduction & Objective Overview (10 minutes)

Begin with a brief discussion: Ask students to share if they or someone they know has experienced a minor injury like a cut or burn and what they did in response.
State the learning objectives clearly on the board.
Connect lesson with real-world importance and personal safety relevance.

2. Mini-Lecture: First Aid Concepts for Minor Injuries (15 minutes)

Present key concepts verbally and with visual slides:
Types of minor injuries (cuts, burns, sprains)
First aid steps for each (cleaning wounds, applying burn treatment, immobilizing sprains)
Infection prevention techniques (hand washing, avoiding contamination).
Show a short instructional video (3-5 minutes) demonstrating proper first aid for these injuries.
Emphasize when to seek emergency care (deep wounds, severe burns, possible fractures).

3. Guided Group Activity: Role-Play Scenarios (20 minutes)

Divide the class into small groups of 5-6 students.
Each group receives a scenario card depicting a minor injury situation (e.g., a cut from a kitchen knife, a burn from hot water, a sprained ankle after sports).
Students role-play applying first aid while peers observe and provide feedback.
