Lesson Outline
1. Introduction and Hook (5 minutes)
- Begin with a quick game: show two numbers on the board (e.g., 5 and 8) and ask the class which is greater.
- Introduce the symbols (< and >), linking to “less than” and “greater than” respectively.
- Show the new symbols (≤, ≥), explaining meanings “less than or equal to” and “greater than or equal to.”
- Ask students if they’ve seen these symbols in real life (e.g., age requirements, temperature ranges).

2. Direct Instruction: Inequalities vs. Equations (7 minutes)
- Write an equation on the board: 5 + 3 = 8.
