Lesson Procedure
1. Warm-Up (5 minutes)

- Bridges: structures that help us cross rivers or roads
- Shelters: places where animals or people find safety

- Use simple building blocks or LEGOs to demonstrate how stacking and connecting parts create a structure.
3. Guided Practice (8 minutes)
- Ask the student to name or draw 3 structures they have seen today or know about.
- For each, write one reason why that structure was important or useful.
- Prompt discussion: “What would happen if a structure was not strong?”
- Use cause and effect language to develop reasoning skills: “If a bridge is weak, then cars cannot cross safely.”
4. Independent Practice/Assessment (5 minutes)
- Provide a simple worksheet with two activities:
