Vision to Action
Overview of the Lesson Plan
This 5-day lesson plan follows US education standards for Grade 11 Business Studies, specifically addressing entrepreneurship and strategic planning. It directly supports National Business Education Association (NBEA) standards in "Entrepreneurship" (level: Advanced-high school) and "Management Functions," focusing on 21st-century skills like innovation, critical thinking, and AI literacy.
The plan provides students hands-on experience using AI tools to develop a vision, mission, goals, objectives, and policies for entrepreneurial ventures. Through AI integration, students will learn to use technology to refine ideas and foster creativity while understanding practical AI applications in business.
Day 1: Developing a Vision
Objective
Students will understand the significance of a clear vision in business and use AI tools to brainstorm and refine a vision statement for a hypothetical entrepreneurial venture.
Materials

- Whiteboard/Markers
- Sample business vision statements
Activities
-
Introduction and Warm-Up (10 minutes)
- Teacher begins with a discussion on the importance of a "vision" in business strategy.
- Ask students to brainstorm their dream business idea and describe its "ultimate purpose."

- Discuss how these examples reflect clarity, future orientation, and ambition.
-
Using AI for Brainstorming (20 minutes)
- Students describe their business idea (e.g., eco-friendly cafés, AI-powered tutoring apps) to the AI tool.
