Characters and Settings Discussion Activity

Form groups of 3-4 students (5-6 groups total) Group Roles: Discussion Leader, Note-taker, Text Detective, Reporter Discussion Questions: • Who are the main characters? What do we learn about them? • Where and when does the story take place? How do you know? • How do the characters interact with their setting? • What textual evidence supports your answers? Time: 10 minutes discussion + 5 minutes sharing Expected Outcome: Each group shares 1-2 key findings with evidence
