What Are Solid Shapes?
Solid shapes are 3D - they have length, width, AND height We can hold them in our hands They have faces, edges, and corners God used these shapes in His creation!
Shape Scavenger Hunt
Find a CUBE in our classroom Spot a SPHERE (ball shape) Look for a CYLINDER (can shape) Hunt for a CONE (ice cream shape)
Meet the Cube
6 square faces 12 straight edges 8 pointed corners Like a dice or building block!
Meet the Sphere
1 curved face (no flat sides) No edges No corners Perfectly round like God's sun!
Meet the Cylinder
2 circular faces (top and bottom) 1 curved side 2 circular edges Like a can or tube!
Sorting Challenge
