Grade 6 Special Education Vowel-Consonant-E Pattern Building Reading Success

What Are Long Vowels?
Long vowels say their own name A says 'ay' like in 'cake' E says 'ee' like in 'Pete' I says 'eye' like in 'bike' O says 'oh' like in 'hope' U says 'you' like in 'cute'

The Magic E Rule
When E comes at the end of a word, it makes the vowel before it say its name, but the E stays silent!
