Perimeter is the distance around the outside of a shape Think of it like walking around the edge of a playground We add up all the side lengths to find perimeter Measured in units like inches, feet, or centimeters

Find the perimeter of this rectangle: Length = 8 feet Width = 5 feet Add all four sides: 8 + 5 + 8 + 5 = 26 feet
What is Area?
Area is the amount of space inside a shape Think of it like covering a floor with square tiles We multiply length times width for rectangles Measured in square units like square inches or square feet
