ES LA - for 1:00 o'clock only (singular) SON LAS - for all other hours (plural) Examples: Es la una en punto (It's 1:00 sharp) Son las dos en punto (It's 2:00 sharp) Son las cinco y cuarto (It's 5:15)
Time Expressions - Expresiones de Tiempo
EN PUNTO = sharp/on the dot Y CUARTO = quarter past (:15) Y MEDIA = half past (:30) Examples: Son las tres en punto (3:00) Son las cuatro y cuarto (4:15) Es la una y media (1:30)
Parts of the Day - Partes del Día
DE LA MAÑANA = in the morning (6 AM - 12 PM) DE LA TARDE = in the afternoon (12 PM - 6 PM) DE LA NOCHE = in the evening/night (6 PM - 12 AM) DE LA MADRUGADA = in the early morning (12 AM - 6 AM) MAÑANA POR LA MAÑANA = tomorrow morning
