The Amazing Water Cycle Journey
Discover how water travels around our planet Grade 5 Science Adventure

What is the Water Cycle?
Water never disappears - it just moves around! The same water has been on Earth for billions of years It travels between oceans, clouds, rivers, and underground This journey is called the water cycle

Think About It!
Where do you think the water in your glass came from? Could it have been in a cloud yesterday? Maybe it was once in the ocean?

Step 1: Evaporation
The sun heats up water in oceans, lakes, and rivers Water changes from liquid to invisible water vapor This water vapor rises up into the air Like steam from your hot chocolate!

Step 2: Condensation
Water vapor rises high where it's cold Cold air makes water vapor turn back into tiny water droplets Millions of these droplets form clouds Just like fog on a cold morning!

Cloud in a Jar Activity
We're going to make our own cloud! Materials: jar, hot water, ice, hair spray Watch condensation happen before your eyes See how temperature changes create clouds

Step 3: Precipitation
Water droplets in clouds grow bigger and heavier When they're too heavy to float, they fall down This falling water is called precipitation Rain, snow, sleet, and hail are all precipitation!

Collection: Where Does Water Go?
{"left":"Rivers and streams carry water back to oceans\nSome water soaks into the ground\nPlants and animals use water for survival","right":"Some becomes groundwater deep underground\nLakes and ponds collect rainwater\nThe cycle starts all over again!"}

The Complete Water Cycle

Remember This!
"Water is life's matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water." - Albert Szent-Györgyi Every drop of water is precious and part of an endless journey!
