Read the Adventure

The Rainy-Day Map Rain tapped at the windows of the hospital ward. Rhys was sitting up in bed while his friend George looked through a pile of books beside the chair. “Look what’s slipped out of this one,” George said. He held up a small, folded map. A dotted line crossed the page and ended beside a drawing of a lighthouse. The boys asked Nurse Patel if they could follow the clues from the ward. She smiled and helped them look around. First, they spotted a blue paper star near the bookcase. Its back had a message: “Where visitors leave their coats.” They found the next clue by the coat hooks. It led them to a tall cupboard at the end of the corridor. Nurse Patel opened it carefully. Inside sat a tin filled with coloured pencils and a card that read, “For the ward’s next great adventure!” Rhys and George grinned. They decided to use the pencils to draw a new map for the next rainy day.
