Fantastic Mr. Fox Assessment

Read the original passage below, then answer each question. Use details from the passage and your own thinking where asked.
A Clever Plan Mr Fox knew the farms beyond the hill were watched closely. Boggis, Bunce and Bean had built fences and set guards because they wanted to stop him taking food. One evening, Mr Fox returned to his den with only a few scraps. His family was hungry, and the farmers were digging into the hillside. “We cannot wait for them to reach us,” said Mrs Fox. “We need a plan.” Mr Fox studied the soil and listened. The farmers’ shovels were getting closer, but their work was slow. He began digging a narrow tunnel away from the noise. His children joined in, carrying loose earth back into the den. They worked quietly and took turns so nobody became too tired. The tunnel opened beneath a bank near the farms. Mr Fox could not safely visit every storehouse, so the family made a careful route. They collected small amounts of food from each farm and carried it underground. Their neighbours, who were also short of food, helped organise a shared meal. When the farmers finally broke into the old den, it was empty. They searched the tunnels, but the foxes had moved beyond their reach. Mr Fox looked at the gathered food and smiled. His clever plan had helped his family, but it had worked because everyone shared the effort—and because they remembered their hungry neighbours, too.
