Use the self-contained scenario and evidence below to plan a persuasive PEEL paragraph. PEEL means Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link. Choose evidence carefully, explain how it supports your point, and link your idea to the wider purpose of the celebration.

Scenario and evidence

At a community Matariki celebration, Georgia and Hana are helping prepare a display about remembering those who have passed, celebrating the present, and looking ahead. Georgia suggests filling the display with bright decorations. Hana argues that visitors should also be able to share a hope for the year ahead. Tui listens, then suggests adding a board where people can write hopes on star-shaped cards. The group makes the board together, and visitors stop to read and add their own cards. By the end of the evening, the display includes colourful decorations, remembered stories, and many hopes for the future.
