Adjective Flip Cards Set

WALT & Success Criteria

WALT: We are learning to identify and record parts of speech, prefixes, roots and suffixes for common teenage adjectives and write clear definitions.
Success criteria:
• I can name the part of speech for each adjective.
• I can spot any prefix or suffix and write the root (with meaning if known).
• I can write a short, clear definition suitable for a flip card.

Instructions

Cut these cards out in sets of four per A4 page, add your answers, laminate and put on a ring to make a flip book. Use the Word Bank to help with root meanings.

Differentiation

Support: Work with a partner or use the Word Bank and teacher prompts.
Challenge: Add an example sentence for three cards and note any synonyms or antonyms.

Dyslexia-friendly reading options

• Read aloud each word first; use a ruler or reading strip to track lines. • Write answers in short phrases. • Use a coloured background when laminating if it helps.
