Character Traits Exploration

Read the story. Then answer the questions using clues from the story. A character trait is a word that tells what someone is like, such as helpful or brave.

The Missing Ribbon

Isla, Talia and Zach were ready for the dance competition. Their group was called the Star Steps. Just before their turn, Talia noticed that one ribbon had fallen off her costume. “I can’t find it!” she said. She looked worried. Isla stopped practising and helped Talia search near the chairs. Zach looked under the table. He found the ribbon caught beside a bag. “Here it is!” he said. Isla carefully tied it back on Talia’s costume. Talia smiled and thanked them both. When the music began, the three friends danced together. Zach forgot one small step, but he kept going and smiled at the audience. After the dance, the group clapped for every team, even the team that won first place. They were proud that they had helped one another.
