Teacher and parent guidance

Talk through the steps using real objects, gestures or picture cards. Read the instructions aloud and allow the student to answer by speaking, pointing, drawing or using an adult scribe.

Dyslexia-friendly options: use a clear sans-serif font, read one instruction at a time, provide extra thinking time, and avoid asking the student to copy long sentences.

Differentiation: support learners by modelling the three steps and using only two choices at a time. Invite confident learners to explain why the order matters or add a fourth step, such as “watch the seed grow”.
