At the surf lifesaving club, Ari has written an introduction for an argument essay. Read it carefully, then review it as a supportive writing partner. Give specific feedback: name what works and suggest one useful next step. You can compare ideas with a partner, but write your own responses.

Ari’s draft introduction

Essay question: Should all teen members of a surf lifesaving club complete beach safety training before joining a patrol? Surf lifesaving is a good thing and lots of people go to the beach. Last summer, a strong current surprised some swimmers at a popular beach, and patrol members helped them reach safety. This shows why beach safety matters.
