In the fictional short film *The Last Light*, Mele is closing a small coastal lighthouse before a storm. She notices a fishing boat still offshore. The power fails, and she must decide whether to leave the building or find another way to signal the boat. In the final sequence, she carries a lamp to the lighthouse window and flashes it towards the sea. The boat turns towards the coast. The final sequence is shown in four frames: Frame 1: A wide, cool-toned view shows Mele small against the lighthouse’s large interior, making her appear isolated.
