Read the story below. Then use the clues from the story to plan and write a short summary. You can keep the ending a surprise!

The Lost Lunchbox

Tahnee was excited for her class picnic at the park. She packed a cheese sandwich and an apple in her red lunchbox. When the class reached the picnic spot, Tahnee opened her bag—but the lunchbox was gone! Tahnee and her friend Ivy retraced their steps. They looked near the gate and beside the big gum tree. Then Ivy spotted a red corner peeking out from under a park bench. Tahnee lifted the bench’s edge and pulled out her lunchbox. A curious magpie had nudged it there while looking for crumbs! Tahnee laughed with relief. She and Ivy sat under the gum tree and shared their picnic. The magpie watched from a safe distance.
