Dragons Story Comprehension

Read the story carefully. Then answer the questions using clues from the text. You can look back at the story whenever you need to.
Mira lived beside a green hill with her grandfather. Near the top of the hill was a cave. One evening, Mira saw a thin curl of smoke rise from its entrance. She was curious, but she remembered Grandad’s advice: “Always be kind, and keep a safe distance from unknown places.” The next morning, Mira found a small dragon beside the orchard fence. One of its wings was caught in a loose loop of rope. The dragon looked frightened, so Mira spoke softly and asked Grandad for help. Together they carefully loosened the rope. The dragon’s name was Ember. Its green scales shimmered in the sunlight, and a puff of warm air came from its nose. Ember was worried. A strong wind had blown a branch across the stream, stopping water from reaching the orchard trees. Grandad fetched a sturdy pole. Mira guided Ember to the stream, where the dragon gently nudged the branch aside with its nose. Water began to flow again. That afternoon, the orchard trees looked fresh and bright. Mira left a basket of apples near the cave as a thank-you. From the hill came a happy rumble. Mira smiled. She had made a new friend by being brave, careful and kind.
