Prejudice and Inclusion Reflection

This reflection is personal. Share only what you feel comfortable sharing; you may use a made-up or observed example instead. Listen without interrupting, respect different experiences, and do not repeat someone else’s story without permission. You can ask a trusted adult for support if a topic feels difficult.

Reflect on an experience

Choose a moment when you or someone you observed was included or left out. You may write about a fictional situation instead.

1.Describe what happened in the situation you chose. What did people say or do?

2.What feelings might the person or people involved have experienced? Explain what in the situation could have led to those feelings.

3.What does this situation suggest about how people can help others feel respected and included?

Christian teachings and everyday choices

Consider these teachings: “Love one another” (John 13:34) and “you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).

4.Choose one of the teachings above. In your own words, explain how it could guide someone responding to prejudice or exclusion at school.

5.Write three specific actions a student could take to make a school community more inclusive. Include at least one action for responding safely when they notice prejudice.

Plan a school radio station inclusion segment

A school radio team is preparing a short segment about belonging. Plan ideas that could be shared respectfully without revealing anyone’s private story.

6.Suggest a phrase, sound, or image idea for the segment that represents people feeling welcome. Explain what it would communicate.

7.Write one brief, respectful message the radio team could share to encourage listeners to challenge prejudice and include others.
