WALT & Success Criteria

WALT (We Are Learning To): Plan a fairy tale by sketching three key scenes in order, labelling who is there, what happens, and how characters feel.

Success Criteria:

1. I can draw a simple sketch for each main scene.

2. I can label who is in each scene.

3. I can write one sentence about what happens in each scene.

4. I can show how characters feel (a word or a face).

Use the sentence stems below if you need help: "In this scene, ___ is/are here." "What happens is ___." "They feel ___ because ___."

Encouragement: Remember beginning → middle → end. You can add small speech bubbles or a short note if you want more detail.

Helpful Tips, Differentiation & Extension

Differentiation for diverse learners: Use the sentence stems on the back or ask a friend/teacher to scribe your ideas. Drawings can show feelings if writing is hard. Work in a quiet area if you need fewer distractions.

Extension activities (for advanced learners): Add a speech bubble with a line of dialogue, or write a short paragraph (3–4 sentences) for one scene including setting details.

Dyslexia-friendly reading & writing options: Try writing one short phrase only, use coloured pencils to label (who = blue, what = green, feelings = red), and use block letters. You may tell the scene aloud to a partner instead of writing.
