On a windy Saturday afternoon, Maia and her younger brother Levi followed the path beside Fern Creek. They were heading to their aunt’s cottage before the rain arrived. “My lantern!” she cried when Maia held it out. “I use it to light the path at dusk.” The woman thanked them and gave them each a warm apple scone. As the first raindrops fell, Maia and Levi continued to their aunt’s cottage, glad they had taken the time to help.
