The ice rink is deciding whether to add a weekly family skate session. Plan a persuasive speech for the rink committee. Choose a side, give reasons, and finish with a clear request. You can use the planning prompts and example evidence below.

Plan your message

Think about who will listen and what you want them to think or do. The committee cares about safety, cost and whether people will enjoy the session.

Build strong reasons

8.Write a greeting and an opening sentence that clearly introduces your opinion.
9.Write a closing request that tells the committee exactly what you want them to do.
10.Read your plan aloud to a partner. What is one change you would make so your speech is clearer or more convincing for the committee?
