Protect Our Native Birds

Imagine waking up to the sound of tūī singing outside your window. Wouldn’t you want that beautiful sound to continue for years to come? I believe we must do more to protect Aotearoa New Zealand’s native birds. First, native birds help keep our forests healthy by spreading seeds and pollinating plants. They are an important part of our natural world. For example, the Department of Conservation explains that introduced predators, such as rats and stoats, threaten many native birds and their eggs. We can all help by keeping cats inside at night, protecting nesting places and supporting local pest-control projects. If we act now, future generations will still be able to enjoy our unique birds. Please choose one action today and help protect our precious native birds.
