📖 Part 1: Story Sequencing

Below are four passages from the Purakua stories. Each passage belongs to a story stage: Beginning, Problem, Resolution, or Ending. Read each passage carefully, then complete the tasks below.

Story Passages

Passage A: "The people of the bay celebrated as calm returned to the water. They gave thanks for the protection they had been given, and promised to honour the land and sea always."

Passage B: "PoriPori lived near the sparkling shores of the bay, where the sea was calm and the people were happy. Life was peaceful — until a great shadow began to creep across the water."

Passage C: "Mauao stood firm, calling upon the strength of the mountains and the ancestors who had come before. With great courage, he faced the darkness and drove it back into the deep."

Passage D: "The shadow grew larger each day, bringing storms and fear to the people. The fish disappeared, the children could not play on the beach, and no one knew what to do."
