On a windy Saturday morning, Pip the little kiwi went to the beach with his friend Moana. They brought a bright yellow kite. Pip held the string while Moana ran across the sand. Up, up went the kite! Then a strong gust of wind pulled it from Pip’s hands. The kite flew over the dunes and landed in a tall flax bush. Pip felt worried. Moana found a long, fallen branch nearby. Together, they gently lifted the kite out of the flax. Pip checked it: not a tear! They took turns holding the string as the kite danced in the sky.
