Session 1: Understanding Career Choices

Activities

1. Introduction (10 minutes)

   • Welcome students and introduce the topic of career choices.
   • Brief discussion on the importance of career planning and presentation skills.

2. Textbook Exploration (20 minutes)

   • Instruct students to work in pairs and read the assigned section on career choices from the high school 2-textbook.
   • Ask students to highlight key points and prepare notes for discussion.

3. Class Discussion (15 minutes)

   • Facilitate a class discussion on different career options presented in the textbook.

Session 2: Expanding Thoughts and Team Formation

Activities

   • Start with a quick recap of the previous session's discussion.

2. Expanding Thoughts (15 minutes)

   • Have students individually expand on their notes and thoughts from the textbook.

3. Task Guidance (10 minutes)

   • Distribute handouts with detailed instructions on the presentation task and expectations.

4. Team Composition (20 minutes)

   • Allow students to form teams of four based on shared career interests.
   • Each team selects a team leader and begins brainstorming ideas for their presentation.

Session 3: Application and Problem Solving

   • Assign each group to create problems related to their career presentation.
   • Have groups exchange problems and solve each other’s.

Session 4: Outline and Research

Objectives

• Students will choose a topic and write a detailed outline.
• Students will prepare for their presentation using various tools.

• Access to computers/laptops
• Handouts on outline writing

Activities

1. Topic Selection (20 minutes)

   • Students choose a presentation topic within the given category and check in with the teacher.

2. Outline Writing (20 minutes)

   • Encourage the use of photo generation and ideation tools, recording all prompts used.

3. Preparation (10 minutes)
