Overview

This lesson plan is designed for 11th Grade students and aligns with the Physical Education curriculum standards in the United States. The focus is on assessing football skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and tactical awareness. Lesson Structure

1. Introduction (10 minutes)

• Shooting Drill (10 minutes):

  • Set up two shooting stations 18 yards from the goal. Practice shooting from different angles and distances.

3. Tactical Awareness (20 minutes)

• Mini-Game Play:
  • Divide students into two teams with 3 players each, plus a rotating goalie.
  • Play a series of small-sided games (3v3) to focus on positioning, decision-making, and teamwork.
  • Assessment Criterion: Spatial awareness, strategic thinking, and effective communication.

4. Cool Down and Debrief (10 minutes)

• Cool Down Routine (5 minutes):

  • Gentle jogging followed by static stretches focusing on major muscle groups (hamstrings, quads, calves, shoulders).

• Debrief (5 minutes):

  • Gather students and provide feedback based on observations during the session.
  • Encourage students to reflect on their performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Discuss key takeaways related to teamwork and strategy observed during the session.
