Display the claim-and-evidence prompt: “Multicellular organisms are more complex than unicellular organisms because…” Students use their Venn diagrams to prepare a two-sentence response. Partners take turns stating a claim and supporting it with evidence from one classification card or the comparison text. Select two students to share, prompting classmates to identify the evidence used.
28–30 min · Exit check. Return to the final review and exit prompt. Students answer on the bottom of the organism classification cards and evidence organizer: “Choose one organism. Classify it as unicellular or multicellular and explain how its cells carry out life functions.” Collect the worksheet to assess understanding and use responses to plan the next lesson.
