  2. 5–10 min · Rehearse evidence-based explanations. Teacher models a brief explanation: “Because the surface is rocky and uneven, we added larger wheels; in Trial 3, the rover crossed more of the obstacle course.” Teacher highlights the transitions “because,” “for example,” “however,” and “therefore” on the claim-evidence-reasoning examples. Students respond: “How did designing for another world change your understanding of Earth?” They must include one comparison, one evidence-based evaluation, and one next-step improvement.
