We are doing an introduction to science focusing on observing life in the things around us use words taken from Abeka order and design Lesson 1

Lesson structure (30 minutes)

  1. 0–4 min · Hook: “What makes it living?” Teacher opens the observation and order introduction deck to display a close-up image of a leaf, flower, or small plant and asks, “What can you know from looking carefully, and what are you only guessing?” Students silently list three visible details, then share one observation and one possible inference. Teacher records both categories without correcting responses yet.

  2. 4–9 min · Direct teach: Science words.
