Overview
This 5-day unit introduces 7th-grade students to the scientific investigation of the diversity of living organisms. They will learn to obtain, evaluate, and communicate information about organisms and develop models categorizing organisms based on shared characteristics. Lessons are designed to actively engage 20 students, aligning specifically with the Georgia Standards of Excellence (S7L1, S7L1.a) which complement Common Core literacy standards by focusing on analyzing and communicating scientific information.
Day 1: Introduction to Biodiversity and Scientific Inquiry
