Lesson Title: Presentation Skills: Delivering a Weather Broadcast Lesson Description: I can present a weather forecast to the class based on my collected temperature data and weather observations. Students will work in small groups to plan and deliver a 60-second weather broadcast, using their data logs, graphs, and weather vocabulary to inform their forecast, practicing public speaking skills in a supportive and structured environment. Key concepts include oral communication, data presentation, weather forecasting, and collaborative teamwork. Success Criteria: Deliver a 60-second group weather broadcast that includes at least three weather vocabulary terms, references collected data, and communicates clearly to the audience. Differentiation: Allow note cards, visual cue cards, and picture-supported scripts for dyslexic and ELL students; offer the option to pre-record the broadcast for students with anxiety or Down syndrome; provide a structured script template for students with ADHD; support Exceptional learners with a defined speaking role suited to their comfort level. Extension: Record and edit the weather broadcast as a video using a tablet or classroom camera, then share it with another class or include it in a digital portfolio.
