Lesson Structure

Introduction (10 minutes)

• Hook: Start with a brief interactive activity. Show various items in the classroom or use flashcards that represent different objects (e.g., book, chair, student). Ask students, “¿Qué es esto?” for singular items.
• Transition: Introduce demonstrative adjectives by explaining that “este, esta, estos, estas” are used to point out specific objects or people in relation to the speaker. Elicit responses from students on what they think these words mean and how they might use them.

Direct Instruction (10 minutes)

• Explanation of Terms:
  • Este (this, masculine singular)
  • Esta (this, feminine singular)
  • Estos (these, masculine plural)
  • Estas (these, feminine plural)
