Lesson Description

Students will explore creativity and develop fine motor skills by creating a collage using pictures of cars and planes cut from magazines. This hands-on activity will also develop early visual literacy and vocabulary related to vehicles. The students will practice sorting, cutting, gluing, and arranging images to make a unique artwork representing "Wheels and Wings."

Lesson Timeline

0-5 min	Introduction and Objective	Briefly discuss today’s goal. Show some sample cars and planes pictures. Ask, “What kinds of vehicles have wheels? Which ones fly?”
5-10 min	Vocabulary & Sorting Game	Show picture cards of different vehicles. Help students sort them into "Cars" and "Planes." Encourage children to say the vehicle’s name.
10-25 min	Collage Creation	Students select pictures from magazines, cut them out carefully, and glue them onto construction paper to create a vehicle collage. Encourage creativity and mixing cars and planes.
25-30 min	Sharing and Vocabulary Review	In small groups, students share their collages. Teacher prompts them to name vehicles they used and describe colors or shapes.
30-40 min	Drawing & Labeling	Students use crayons or markers to draw additional details (e.g., wheels, wings) and label their favorite vehicle with assistance.
40-45 min	Clean up and Reflection	Guide students to clean their areas. Brief whole-class reflection: “What was your favorite part? Did you learn any new vehicle words?”

Assessment

• Observation: Teacher will observe students’ participation in sorting, cutting, and glue application skills to assess fine motor development.
