Overview

This 45-minute lesson plan is designed for 9th-grade students focusing on applying previously learned Spanish vocabulary through reading and collaborative activities. The lesson aligns with Common Core State Standards for reading comprehension and speaking and listening skills.

Materials Needed

• Printed copies of a short article in Spanish (approximately 300 words) suitable for 9th graders.

Class Structure

Introduction (5 minutes)

• Objective: Introduce the focus of the lesson.
• Activities:

Reading Activity (15 minutes)

  • Have a quick class debrief where students share one new thing they learned.
  • Collect sticky notes where students write one key takeaway from the lesson.

Differentiated Instruction
