Understanding Equal Groups
Equal groups have the SAME number of objects in each group Each group must have exactly the same amount We can count by groups instead of counting by ones This makes counting faster and easier!
Hands-On: Making Equal Groups
Use your counting bears to make 3 equal groups Put 5 bears in each group Count to check: Does each group have exactly 5? Turn and Talk: How many bears do you have altogether?
