Manaia wants to find out which fruit her class would most like for a shared snack. Read the survey information, then answer each question. Use tally marks to keep count.

Plan a useful survey

A clear survey asks one simple question and gives people answer choices that are easy to understand.

1.Manaia wants to find out one favourite fruit for the class snack. Which question will give her the clearest data?

How many fruits have you ever eaten?

2.Manaia is choosing answer options for her favourite-fruit survey. Which set is easiest to count and has one answer for each person?

3.Write a simple survey question you could ask your class about a favourite lunchtime activity. Include at least three answer choices.
