You are helping your team prepare for a small-sided soccer game. Read the game situations and choose skills that help your team keep possession, create chances and play safely. For reflection questions, use the sample answer as a guide.

During a 4-a-side game, Maia receives the ball near the sideline. A defender is moving towards her, and a teammate is free in the middle. Maia takes a small touch away from the defender, looks up, then passes firmly along the ground to her teammate. The teammate controls the ball and moves into open space.
