🔬 Part 1: Investigation Framework

1. AIM - What are you trying to find out?

Write a clear statement starting with "To investigate..." or "To determine..."

2. HYPOTHESIS - What do you predict will happen and why?

Use the format: "If [change], then [result] because [scientific reason]"

3. INDEPENDENT VARIABLE - What will you deliberately change?

This is the factor you control (e.g., fertiliser type, watering frequency)

4. DEPENDENT VARIABLE - What will you measure?

This is what responds to your change (e.g., plant height, fruit yield)

5. CONTROLLED VARIABLES - List 4 factors you must keep the same

These ensure your test is fair (e.g., same soil type, same plant variety)

6. METHOD OVERVIEW - Briefly describe your experimental setup

Include: sample size, duration, measurement frequency

7. What makes this investigation reliable?

Large sample size (minimum 10 per treatment)

Repeated measurements over time

Controlled variables kept constant

Accurate measuring equipment used

8. EXPECTED RESULTS - How will you present your data?

Table with averages and ranges
