Butterflies

Butterflies are amazing insects that change as they grow. First, they start as tiny eggs on leaves. Next, caterpillars hatch from the eggs and eat lots of leaves to grow bigger. Then, the caterpillars make a hard shell called a chrysalis around themselves. Finally, beautiful butterflies come out of the chrysalis with colorful wings. This process of changing is called metamorphosis.
