Most people in America live in houses or apartments. Houses are buildings where one family lives. They have rooms like bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. Apartments are smaller homes inside bigger buildings. Many families can live in the same apartment building.

Some people live in mobile homes. These are houses that can be moved from place to place. Mobile homes are good for people who need to move often for work.

When people go camping, they use temporary shelters like tents. Tents are made of strong cloth and can be set up quickly outdoors. Some people also use cabins when they visit the woods or mountains.

Around the world, people build shelters using materials they can find nearby. In hot places, people might build homes with thick walls to stay cool. In cold places, people build homes that keep heat inside. No matter what type of shelter people have, the most important thing is that it keeps them safe and comfortable.
